Kentucky State Police said they arrested an Arizona truck driver Monday after he was pulled over on Interstate 71 in Oldham County, and police found around 1,580 pounds of marijuana in his truck.
Sohrab F. Shamoil, 47, of Mesa, Az., was arrested and charged with careless driving and trafficking in marijuana over 5 pounds, police said.
Kentucky State Police said they pulled Shamoil over around 2 p.m. while he was driving a commercial tractor trailer north on I-71. Oldham County Police K-9, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement and Kentucky State Police officers assisted at the scene.
Police said they are still investigating the case.
This just happened in my state...I need to get me a police light and start pulling people over.
